Just got free civ and would like to play it some time woyuld anyone be interested. Does it play with ais only couse it wont let me

I'll suppose you're using the win32 Freeciv version. If you start up the Freeciv client you also select the option "join game" if you select the metaserver there and click the update you should see a list of open and waiting for players or running Freeciv sessions. Just select one to connect to a game session. Playing a local internet game works on the same principle, other players just need to know your IP and port number you're using.
As for the no of AI's in single mode....
When you start a game you should see a small selection to enter your name, the difficulty level and a slider to select the total number of AI players (1-30). The standard number should be 5.Skeptics should forego any thought of convincing the unconvinced that we hold the torch of truth illuminating the darkness. A more modest, realistic, and achievable goal is to encourage the idea that one may be mistaken.
