Call To Power 2 Cradle 3+ mod in progress: https://apolyton.net/forum/other-games/call-to-power-2/ctp2-creation/9437883-making-cradle-3-fully-compatible-with-the-apolyton-edition
seems rather simple. Do alot of ppl play? Is there going to be an upgrade to add more units and governments ect? How about grouping uints to wage battles like ctp
Currently, the goal is civ II compatibility. If you want to see what games are currently running, you can look here. Generalized improvements has been in the works for a while, but won't be in the 1.13.0 release. It might make the release after that, but I don't know for certain. Unit stacks have also been talked about on the freeciv-dev list, but again won't be in the 1.13.0 release. Some of the features may be in the FreeAC split, but I don't remember the URL for that.
The great advantage of Freeciv is that it's a truly free version of Civ, it has MP, can be played by everyone on any system (Amiga, Apple, Unix/Linux, PalmOS, Windows, Wince etc..) and open source so anything can be changed. During the past years the Freeciv project has shown it has staying power even with a relatively small group of developers on Linux. Imagine what happens when Freeciv moves into the mainstream
True, Freeciv will probably always be one step behind the contemporary commercial counterparts when it comes to ear and eyecandy but it will still be around after CtP1&2, Civ2MP and Civ3 are long gone.
Skeptics should forego any thought of convincing the unconvinced that we hold the torch of truth illuminating the darkness. A more modest, realistic, and achievable goal is to encourage the idea that one may be mistaken. Doubt is humbling and constructive; it leads to rational thought in weighing alternatives and fully reexamining options, and it opens unlimited vistas.
