    What is FreeCiv ? It is a free game (as his name seem indicate it) ?

    Freeciv is a civ 2 clone with some enhancements. It is available under the GPl, ie it is free and the source code is available.

    You can download it from www.freeciv.org or from the apolyton freeciv section under alternative civs.

      Of course for grumpy M$ lovers who aren't very good at compiling Linux executables it's still a CivI clone with no diplomacy in singleplayer.

        Hey - why aren't we at least worthy of being a civ 2 clone?

        And we do have severel features beyond civ 2. And there are precompiled windows binaries somewhen on the download page. Of course if you want to try the CVS version (who wouldn't?) you will have to dig out your compiler
