Have fun - join the Challenge!

    CivIRC Freeciv Challenge 2005

    Freeciver, we want YOU!

Why and what for? That is a fairly good question, which can be answered very simple: to have fun Civin'. Take part in the online Freeciv multiplayer venue of CivIRC - the Civing IRC network.

It is a new annual event held for gathering Civers to try an alternative Civilization multiplayer experience, while having fun and having an online get together of various Civ minded people. It is not about who is best and greatest, but about try something different in a friendly spirit.

The primary goal of this open tournament - or shall we say multiplayer gathering, is to promote awareness of alternative Civilization type games, improve alternative Civilization community involvement by mending people into a unified venue, instead of being scattered around the Net, and to simply have fun without having to worry about how good or bad you are. "'Cause civilization should be free!"

A very commendable project and kudos to Rasbelin and co. for their sterling efforts.

I was wondering if the CFC 2005 site could update the Freeciv download links to the latest Freeciv version i.e. 2.0.2 instead of 2.0.1.

Will be done ASAP. The tournament is abit on hold, because we have a serious lack of people. Right now we have at least 3 players for sure, but that's not enough. If we don't get at leats 6-8 that have said "yeah" in the CivIRC forum, the venue won't proceed.
