  • GTK2 client don't work!

I compile Freeciv CVS version(GTK2 client) on Red Hat Fedora Core 1 and civclient don't work when i try to start game in civserver(command /start).
When i try to start game - type /start, main civclient window is close and civserver write - connection lost

xaw and gtk1 client's is working well!
    What's wrong?!

That is weird. I also have Fedora Core 1, and it works like a charm here. Do you get any error messages from the client?

      Perhaps problem with translation!
I compile freeciv gtk2 client with Russian translate, freeciv gtk2 don't work(main window works fine, when i try to start game, window closing) xaw and gtk1 works well with russian translate!

When i compile gtk2 client with --disable-nls option, gtk2 client works well with no problems!

      What's wrong?!

No idea. Wait for Vasco (gtk2 client maintainer) to read this thread, I guess.

'export FREECIV_NETWORKING_CHARSET=ISO-8859-1' before running the game. By default the client uses the charset of the current locale, but civserver is broken.

Barring that, it could just be that the strings are too long...
