  • Uninstalling Freeciv

I have a problem... I had Freeciv 1.13, and I wanted to upgrade it to 1.14 in order to play with the others who have that version. So I downloaded this version from softonic.com, I read the readme file in order to learn how to install it (I'm a beginner using Linux Red Hat 9) and finally I made all the steps. But when I launch Freeciv the version is still 1.13, and I can make any connection... Do you know any solution? Thanks!

I'm thinking how to uninstall it and try to install just the version 1.14.

It depends if it was installed by rpm or not
(rpm is the Redhat Package Manager)

      Open a terminal and type:

      rpm -q freeciv

If it shows the old version, then you can uninstall it by typing (as root):

      rpm -e freeciv

With the old version gone, the new one should work.

If it doesn't, try downloading an rpm package of it from www.freeciv.org (when it comes back up - iit's down now )

      Hope this helps
