Okay, Now we're going. Another six months asnd I'll be caught up to where I left Civ 2, so long ago.
But I've got the urge to adjust things. I don't like the notion of using historical countries and leaders on a map that has no relation to the real world. (and on a map that had some relation to the real world, things ould be out of shape anyway, such as French, Romans , and Babylonians setting up empires at the same time.)
So I'd like to go entirely imaginary. Back on Civ 2, for instance, I'd replaced most of the nations with my own, Balheri, Adne, and so on, with city names of their own, leader names of their own, and everything else.
Now, using Freeciv, on Linux, editing nation, city, and leader names is a piece of cake, even for someone who mainly uses his computer as a super typwriter.
I can't, however, feature the Balheri marching to war under the Canadian Flag, or the like.
Anybody got any suggestions on how I build flags? And even more, where do I put them in?
I have the GIMP program, and I almost know a few of the basics about it. Buying new software is not an option, but I'm using Mandrake 9.1 with the latest KDE, and there may well be other graphics programs available there, and on the net.
Any help available?
