In my copy of the forum the image is broken. I think you might need more than just a jpg file name.
On the other hand, when I posted the above message and went back to the forum, the image appeared.
I don't like the funereal black border. Also, in the code the line under the image (Demo VII) is generated from a text string in the code (the current version description) and is not built in to the image, but overlays it. This means that when we change versions, we don't have to get a new image.
When I saw the logo that we used in Demo 6, I noticed that the layout of the menu and the border around the image was grey. So, I went with it to make it blend in. If not grey then black? Full black?

Thanks for giving this a shot! I have to say I prefer what we've already got. I pretty much agree with Gary and Axi's comments. The new font you've used doesn't go at all with the image IMO. The classical image needs a classical-looking font.

First off, this has nothing to do with the demo image you made, Dominic. I like the layout with the circle and the font of the text.
I am hoping to not to offend anyone with what I am about to say, there is a chance it might happen. Please don't take it personally.
Since the first time I entered the project page of Clash I always found the Clash icon ugly and boring.
It does not catch my eye, and frankly looking at it I think 'this looks like a boring game'.
I don't like the red and blue color of the faces and the look is too classic and serious for my likings.
Well, this is my opinion and I don't know if anyone else shares it.
I really think a new one should be designed. I think it should be more catching and fancier. As you know, first looks can be important.
However, the text under the logo (Demo VII) is not part of the logo art, it is programmed in the code and overlaid on the logo, so the choice of font for it is irrelevant. Any logo with that text built in as part of the logo will not be used. I spent far too much time arranging things so that the demo version number can be changed easily to go back to a built in version number at this stage.
My position simply is when someone does something we'll look at it. I have to admit I fairly-well like the current logo so I have no driving passion to replace it... Next time a new artist drops by, especially one that's not interested in doing tile art, which I think is more valuable than a logo at this point, go ahead and encourage them. Let me know and I'll direct them to the previous discussions about what the logo should have so they know a bit of the things that are needed.
