Just a personal preference, I suppose. But I personally love a real-time tactical experience, altho the only decent game that's been made out of a RT engine that I know is StarCraft. The rest that I've played (WarCraft, AoE, Quake, etc) were good RT engines with lousy game rules.
Plus, it would be an option. You could turn it off.
And, it would net us a hook into the 'StarCraft' market . . .
