  • Global Contention Bug/Wish List

    The current version of Global Contention is: 0.6a

    This bug list is for 0.6a:

    BUGS TO FIX / THINGS TO DO / FEATURES TO ADD:
    - cant see selected unit cursor on certain sides bug
    - keypress delays for moving
    - if u accept a treaty ending war in the middile of a battle, it might cause units to be locked in battle forever
    - build orders upgrade to artillery.
    - add to tech screen in scenario: apply to all, clear all, set all
    - oldwin mode needs updating
    - time limits for NA PACT/CEASEFIRE
    - add railroad (city improvement)
    - over keys for selecting scenario
    - fix goto bugs
    - more cities names.
    - the 'can build settlers' option does not work correctly
    - add cursor around tiles that new city will be built by settlers (easier to place cities)
    - misc screen centering bugs

    TO CHECK:
    - ai civs still contact when dead(FIXED, VERIFY)
    - ai's only death-bomb war cities(FIXED, VERIFY)
    - build settlers(FIXED, VERIFY)
    - misc memory problems (FIXED, VERIFY)
    - build orders dont upgradE?
    - production should decrease based on # of cities
    - centering/showing selected cursor bugs

    FUTURE CONSIDERATION:
    - make different size default settings when random map is selected, select like scenario
    - have the scenario editor save start locations, and add option for random starts
    - add option for aircraft fuel
    - fix AI pathfinding for sharing tiles etc

    NEXT MAJOR UPDATE:
    - ending screens
    - change loading screen
    - add missiles add nukes

    0.62 Update

    I'm going to post the progress on 0.62a as it is made so that new bug reports are checked and to show other issues that have been resolved.

    REVISIONS SINCE 0.6a:

    - Fixed bug causing color fading to not work in menus.
    - Setup options no longer show up as editable for client players.
    - Changing the "Auto-Upgrade Roads" option in the setup menu now works correctly.
    - All game setup options now transfer correctly in multiplayer when changed.
    - Players now correctly show up in player list in multiplayer.
    - Changing your player name now works correctly in mulitplayer.
    - Adding AI players to the player list now works in MP.
    - Fixed map transfering for random maps and scenarios, including unit and city placement.
    - Scenario settings are now correctly transfered in MP.
    - Selected unit cursor now works in MP.
    - AI players no longer build settlers when the "Can Build Settlers" option is off.
    - Fixed keypress delays. Still need to verify on slower systems.
    - Added basis for in-game chat system.
    - Added multiplayer msg for telling players when other players have joined the game.
    - Added in-game multiplayer chat.
    - Game setup information (including player lists) is now updated upon joining a game.
    - Updated diplomacy for multiplayer.
    - Starting technologies now work correctly in MP (for scenarios)
    - City size and production info is now only displayed for the civ you are using. I might update this to show other civ's info if you are allied or planted a spy in a city.
    - City types now correctly transfer in MP.
    - Healing units now works correctly in MP.

    TO DO:
    (SOME OF THESE ARE BUGS FROM 0.6)
    - fix ai player loading for single player (display)
    - loading status (hourglass/loading%)
    - loading/unloading units onto/from transports in mp
    when player does not have full amount of slots available
    - msg for when bld is complete
    - cut down some lag
    - player leaves msg
    - fix player leaving setup room and game
    - explosions need update for mp
    - sounds need update for mp
    - CTD (crash to desktop) bug that would sometimes happen when joining a game. (is rare now, but wont happen in debug mode - this one might be hard to fix)
