I really don't know how to program. None the less, I've been putting a lot of thought into the creation of a civ-type game. I'm certain that there are many who would ignore such a statement, and I am also certain that there are many who have said something like this and let it go. However, I've been designing board games for quite some time, and this was originally going to be a board game, but at the moment it is far too complex to be handled via that vaunted medium. So if you have any suggestions as to learn how to program decently, please private message me. There's no need for haste, as I've yet to finish my last (fully board) game. Thanks in expectation.

Take a look at the website: gamedev.net. They've got heaps of good tutorials on programming. Also, if you pick C/C++ to program in then take a look at gametutorials.com. Excellent site.

As me being an OpenGL programmer I'd like to promote http://nehe.gamedev.net for his excellent site. I'm currently working on my own 3D game engine at http://www.dbzsparquest.cjb.net . Right now tho I'm currently re-coding the whole engine, hehe, tweaking it up and stuff.
