Chapter 1: Lau-Yang, Who?

It’s M.Y. 3570 and peace between factions has been achieved for almost 70 years now. Since then, war is just a bad thought in people’s minds.
No one knows how our leaders stay alive and in good health. Some say it’s because they make a clone of them selves every once and a while, other say they suck life from us other and some even say they know some secret alien technology that keeps them alive, I really don’t know, but I don’t care. They do such a good job leading us.
You’re probably wondering who am I, right?
My name is Lau-Yang. That’s right, my name was taken from the leader of the Hive. My parents used to live there until the war ended, then they moved here, to University Base, to continue their studies in space exploration.
Well it all started when the first satellite since planetfall was launched, 80 years ago. Backs then all the factions were at war and some people say that Mindworms existed in the wild form, but I think that’s just a myth. At least I never saw one!
They sent a few study satellites up there and discovered that there was another planet in another solar system that appeared to have life, every one laugh at first but then the University received a video message from that planet.
The message consisted in a video of a men who clamed to be the president of the USA. He was asking a ship called Unity to not turn back because Earth was endangered. No one understood what was this message but our leader got really scared.
They summoned a Council meting and decided to stop the war, since then they have been building a space ship to explore that planet.
I believe you guessed it. I’m part of the crew for that ship.

Chapter 2: ghosts from the past


5:00 p.m.
M.Y. 3570
University Space Center-University Base

I was on my way to the living quarters of the complex when the alarm went of. I rushed to the Administration building.
Once I got there I asked the guard in duty what was going on and he replied:
-It looks like they noticed an alien ship coming from Earth.
-An alien ship?
-Yes. It seams as those guys in Earth know how to travel trough space, and they want to know us. By the way, the boss wants to see you.
-Boss?
-Yes, didn’t you know? Zaharchov I’m self is in the center.
-And he wants to see me?
-It sure looks like it.
-Well, thanks, I’ll go see right away.
-He’s in here, go ahead
-Thanks
I moved down the busy hallway until I reached the control room. Zaharchov was there with Chairman yang of the Hive. I walked up to them and asked:
-You wanted to see me sir?
-You must be Lau? – Zaharchov replied.
-Yes sir.
-We haven’t seen in a wile Lau! – Said yang
-I’m sorry sir, I don’t mean to be rude, but I think we haven’t meet before.
-Yes we have, your father was once my chief scientist until he came to the University.
-I don’t remember that.
-You were just a child; you didn’t noticed when your father and me were talking about the new research.
-That’s probably it.
-This is not the time to discuss the past; we’re here to talk about that ship from Earth. – Intervened Zaharchov.
-I still don’t understand why you need me. – I said
-Why, you’re the best astronomer in all of Chiron
-You’re as good as your old man – intervened yang
We walked down to a room that seemed like a war room.
During the all way I was asking myself about what Yang said about my parents. Was it true? Did they work for Yang? I had to find out.


Chapter 3: Surprises

But it couldn’t be now. Now I had the future of Chiron in my hands. Our so I thought.
Zaharchov told me to sit down and pointed a desk. I set at the desk and log on to the computer. I soon find out that I have level 2 clearance, witch means I can access almost all the files in the computer, even the most confidential.
I ask Zaharchov:
-Why is this?
-The clearance? Well, usually my right and men gets it.
-My? Right hand men? I don’t think I deserve it, sir.
-I’ve been watching you’re studies about life on Earth and we think, in fact, we know, there’s life there.
-You KNOW?
-Yes, almost no one knows that we colonized this planet. – Replied Yang – We come from Earth in a ship called Unity.
-That means... – I said
-That means that our ancestors are coming on that ship. – Said Zaharchov
-Our old enemies. – Warned Yang
-Didn’t we keep talking to them?
-We lost all contact with Earth during the trip in the Unity. – Zaharchov said
-So, there’s no way to know if they are Friend or Foe?
-There is one way... – Yang said
-Yes? – I asked
-We can send a ship up there and try to make contact. – Explained Zaharchov
-Let me guess who’s going up there.
-That’s right. – Said Zaharchov and Yang Simultaneously
I was right; they were sending me up there. I had to get ready to the big journey.
