  • OOC: Nerve gas and sporific gas doesn't hurt mindworms.

    Planetneck...

Great, booming "laughter" roared from the spore launcher. The mindworms looked on as the large, tubular creature infront of them billowed out millions of distructive spores at the Hive troops. After about an hour the spore launcher had emptied all of its spore sacks and returned to mournful sighing for the lost spores and the trouble it would take to reproduce them.

OOC: All Hive units on their side of Planetneck got 10% damage from the attack.

      But of course!
I'm sorry my friend, I should have offered you this upgrade weeks ago! The armory at Humanity base is preparing to upgrade your units even now. Help yourselves to whatever you find useful.

      You bastard!

How dare you complain to me about Planetmind attacking "civilian" targets after what YOUR unit did in the base you call War Outpost?

My only regret is that those mindworms didn't wipe your war-loving scum off the face of this planet, as quite frankly, it seems the world would have been a much better place without you.

Do you want to repeat that, face to face...
Or have you grown too soft? Maybe you like cowarding behind your troops and defense lines...

        Now listen to some sense.
I won´t start apologising for what I did 60 years ago. Understand, that the seven thousand people we put to death would have died anyway. The base was in shambles after the battle, and it was only a matter of days before the supplies ended, and there was no way we could have brought supplies from the nearest base. So we made a radical decision...

The second mass execution made by the local garrison, in where your family died, was a revenge against planetmind. But this information you already know.

Now let me tell you why we are fighting THIS war. You are... a security risk, a disease... you and your stupid, naive ideologies.

You aswell as we know that Spartans and Peacekeepers will be in war forever, we are like Ying and Yang. Peace and War.
Thats why you see us as the The Ultimate Evil, and we see you as... just a collection of stupid and naive people...too worthless to deserve life.

But keep your feelings in control, you have still much to learn about War...

        • Planetneck:

The missile launchers prepared their response to the horrific planetmind's attack. They fired a new type of artillery round: Napalm. A giant flame gun, coming down in sheets on the mindworms. Three missile artilleries firing it round the clock. The enemy mindworms are starting to take serious damage, near 20 percent. Meanwhile, a plasma garrison and a gatling rover are preparing themselves for an assault.

          • OOC: Um...only the spore launcher is out in the open. And don't say one of the units has Deep Radar because that still won't make the hiding mindworms appear. So only the spore launcher has 20% damage.

            Planetneck (night)...

Silently the only Unity 'Copter assembled flew in low during the night. The chopper had to fly like a crazed locust to avoid the napalm canisters flying through the air. It arrived at the fungus patch with about 2/3 of its fuel remaining. Quietly and quickly mindworms were loaded up. They would soon perform the great Skyworm operation for the first and last time, 60 years after the first. Meanwhile there was more good news. In a pod nearby they found a complete Unity Rover, over 100 years old. They outfitted the small rover to carry the chopper parts when the operation was complete.

The hurt spore launcher send in another cloud of spores and then was allowed to leave to heal.

OOC: 20% damage to the spore launcher, 10% damage to the plasma garrison, 20% damage to the gatling rover.

Commander Grafton of the Peacekeeping Special Forces watched as the brave spore launcher sent it's last cloud of spores off against the Hive forces, then plodded off to get out of harm's way. The Hive forces were really saturating the area with napalm, trying to get the worms who were immune to nerve gas. It was time for a little U.N. intervention...

              To: Commissioner Lal
From: Commander Grafton, Special Forces, currently at Planetneck

Commissioner, the Hive forces are using napalm to try to take out the worms sent here to help us. Please tell the Planetmind that her forces are welcome to join us in the bunkers if they need to. Napalm can't hurt them here.

              Commander Grafton

              To: General Braddock
              From: Commander Grafton

Sir, I guess it's time for a somewhat more detailed report on our position. As you know, the Hive forces have hit us with nerve gas. We were prepared for that, but still took about 10% casualties. These bunkers aren't 100% finished yet, but they'll do for now. I've got both my regiments holed up in them and there's plenty of room here. Planetmind's forces are immune to nerve gas, so that big spore launcher just laughed at them and unleashed a massive bombardment of it's own. You should have seen that thing, it was magnificent! Then they got mad and started dropping napalm all over the place. The spore launcher got some nasty burns and left, but I don't think it went very far. Didn't look like it was too badly hurt either, but it's gonna need a few days to heal and refill it's spore sacks. Man, that thing was the hero of the day! I just sent a message to Commissioner Lal inviting the Planetmind to bring her forces into the bunkers. Napalm can't hurt them here. Sir, we're gonna need some reinforcements down here before too long. I don't think they have enough of a force to seriously threaten our position yet, but it's only a matter of time before Yang realizes this too. At that point, he can either call off the attack (most unlikely) or start sending significant reinforcements our way. However, no matter what he does, if he's going to attack us here we will have the advantage of defending at a choke point, and so anything short of a truely overwhelming force will be literally cut to pieces before they reach our side. All we have to do is hold this position, sir.

              Commander Grafton

(OOC: Grafton has 2 elite infantry units in the bunkers. They have gatling lasers, plasma armor and ECM special ability. Now it's up to Braddock to ponder what else to send down there and how to get it in position fast enough... )

              Yin and Yang, huh?
              That's strange...
You see, Yin and Yang are not just simply opposed to each other. They can also compliment one another nicely at times, and one cannot exist without the other.

But of course, trust the brainwashed Spartans to forget all about that and just go off like a bunch of rabid dogs on stereoids, seeking to destroy the very world that they live in.

Oh, and don't worry about apologies, as I wouldn't have accepted any from you anyway. Just like I don't accept your feeble attempts to explain your "radical decisions" or your "reason" for being at war with us now...

But I'll tell you this much: You will pay for your arrogance, and if you don't think so, then you are the ones who are stupid.

              • In Data Acquisition...

It was the sum of all fears... their worst nightmare come true.
The Spartan army was probably mere hours away, and now the base was ripping itself apart from within. Some Spartan probe team had somehow managed to set them off against each other, and now everyone suspected everyone else of being members of that probe team! The bastards must have been here for quite some time, so there was just no way to know who it was...

And... as if that wasn't enough, everyone was pissed at everyone else for failing to stop the Spartans... the remaining civillians in the base were pissed off at the military for letting the Spartans break through the lines... the military was pissed off at the security forces for allowing the enemy probe team to wreak havoc inside the base, and the security forces were pissed off at the politicians and the military for not giving them the priority they felt they should have had at a much earlier stage so that maybe they could have been prepared for this... also, they were pissed off at the civillians for being stupid!
-How in the hell are we supposed to keep track of what each and every one of these idiots do all the time anyways??!? The silly buggers seem to think security comes in neat little bags that can be bought in grocery stores!

And now the Spartans were coming, the defensive perimeter was blown to pieces and half the garrison was running around playing riot police!

The colonel in charge of the base garrison was having the worst day of his entire life!

Oh dear, oh dear and indeed oh DEAR!!!!
Now what are we supposed to do...??

He knew they had maybe half a day to get the situation back under control again.
Barring a miracle, it wouldn't be enough...

OOC: The Data Acquisition garrison consists of 3 Plasma Garrison units. (Laser/Plasma/Fission/ECM). With the perimeter defense blown to pieces and all, they'll probably hole up buildings and basements around the base and engage in building-to-building street fighting, hoping to stall the Spartans long enough for some kind of help to get there... The rioters will also turn their anger against the Spartans once they start showing up, even if they are pissed off at their own military for letting them come that far...

Meanwhile, the intercepting units are arriving behind the Spartans advancing on Data Acquisition... two of these units has deep radar...
                [end of OOC]

Intercepting units, north of Data Acquisition

They were too late! The Spartans had already broken through the Hive relief force and was descending upon Data Acquisition. Also, it seemed the situation in the base itself was way out of control, with riots going on at the worst possible time! Nobody knew for sure exactly what had happened and how, but some Spartan probe team had really managed to f*ck things up beyond all reason!!

This was no good! No damned good at all! Something had to be done, and fast! Colonel Christopher knew he had to think fast, and he had not a lot of info to work with. However, with the main force of the combined armies already past him, he could attack their rear guard and plug the hole they'd made in the defense line, thus cutting the Spartans' supply line and leaving them stranded in hostile territory. Then they might wreak some havoc in Data Acquisition, but they wouldn't get much further than that, as once the hole in the line was plugged he could take his forces south and finish them off before they could inflict too much damage. Yes, he told himself, we can do that...
-With a little help from our friends...

To: Major Kurita of Hive (copy to General Braddock and General Kane)
                From: Colonel Christopher, Peacekeeping Interceptors

Major, the Spartans seem to have already passed through here and are heading further south, towards Data Acquisition. I think we can take out their rear guard and plug the hole in the defense line, then deal with the rest of them later, when they're stranded in hostile territory with nowhere to go. What I'd like you to do is take your remaining forces and join up with my units A.S.A.P. We're gonna kick some Spartan ass here!

Colonel Christopher of the Peacekeeping Forces

                To: Colonel Christopher
                From: General Braddock

                Mission approved. Proceed as planned.
We're gonna arrange for some additional reinforcements, but it might take a while for them to get there...
                Good luck, Colonel!

                Braddock

OOC: The Peacekeepers have decided that they're willing to gamble with the safety of one of their bases for the chance of really decimating the Spartan combined army. Now they're gonna try to catch Commander Weiss in one hell of a bearhug!

                • (OOC: Guardian, I´m going to post the movements of the Combined army later. Don´t have enough time right now.
Damn! those plasma garrisons had ECM... oh well... guess I´ll have to use Nervo then BTW, there is on XWar rover in the bunker, and bunker is stacked full of Nerve gas

                  The Main army

Everything was ready now, but still hadn´t started the attack on the PK´s. The soldiers were confused, still General Von Halzburg had some plans.

Rumours said that they were waiting for the new Cult of War forces to ready themselves in good attack positions. Then, as a distraction/ second attack, the main army was going to blow its way through the PK defense lines.

                  The Cult of War forces

They were like an incoming storm. Stopping only when the soldiers were exhausted, the third army was poised towards the defense lines near UN Haven City.
It was all one big gambling, as the exact number of the defenders and their position was unknown.

The Cultists travelled through the war torn lands, dark shadows in the scorching sun of the Great Dunes. Soon they would drink Peacekeeper blood...

                  In War Outpost

A battered, old rover left the base, scars of war all over it. In the rover there was only one person, Commander Clayson. Or what was left of him.

He was no longer the same, he wasn´t human any longer. And he had a horrible mission to do.But he had no choice. His memories were there, his powers and skill had been greatly enchanced...but he had no humanity left in him. He was a machine, a construct of the Spartans and a slave of theirs...

Private to Captain Svensgaard of the Nautilus Pirates

Please, Captain, forgive my indecision on the point which you have raised about the study of our implants. I only hold back because I know that any weapon, whether developed to help our cause or not, could so easily be turned against us.
I cannot decide this matter now. It is of too much importance. More detail would certainly aid my efforts.

Private to Datatech Sinder Roze of the Data Angels

                    My friend,
The University/Morganite attack has so far centred on Inspiration Point. If you would aid our defensive efforts there it would be much appreciated.
                    Your friend,
                    Aki Zeta-5

                    Cybernetic Daily News Bulletin
                    Inspiration Point successfully defended!

Due to the valiance of our newly developed Silksteel Sentinels, not to mention our defending Mind Worms and their accompanying Psi Talents (aided by Planetmind's generous efforts) Inspiration Point has been successfully defended against the biggest University/Morganite assault to date.
More defensive units have moved in to bolster Point against any further attack, but we believe a massive percentage of the enemy's forces were used up attempting to capture this ex-University base.
Meanwhile, some of our best-trained troops managed to circumvent the attack and are even now launching assaults on nearby University bases. Success has been mixed, but with probe teams also being launched into the fray we do not believe it will be long before bases begin to fall to us

                    • Dream to Commissioner Lal...

Thank you for invitation to your bunker but no. My Planetworms are safe in the fungus from the napalm. Plus I have a couple of secrets.

                      Planetneck...

The ancient Unity chopper rose out of the fungus, weapons hot. The craft was almost laced with mindworms, forming an orangish shield that was perfectly still. The probe operative piloted the chopper high above the land and flew off toward the Hive rovers.

                      3 minutes later...

                      ZIP! ZIP!

The laser blasts flew past the chopper. Since the rovers didn't have SAM programming the laser blasts barely touched the chopper. The chopper started firing a steady stream of shreaddar darts. The darts sliced through exposed tires and the occasional arm and leg. The chopper crossed over the rover group's center, still firing. When the chopper got to the far side of the rover group it twisted around, flew down close, and swooped over the rovers at top speed. The mindworms fell. Screaming.

One rover kept with the chopper, speeding over the terrain. It screached to a halt and shot off a salvo of gatling laser bolts. They hit. The chopper tumbled and seemed to get caught by the wind. It flew lower, closer to the sea, and went back to the fungal patch.

Meanwhile the mindworms were having a feast. They savaged the rovers at the middle of the group, preventing the other rovers from firing. They started to make their way through the group, traveling east, when a two rovers suprised them from behind. One fired, cutting down many worms. The other rammed the central part of the boil the worms formed but the weapon malfunctioned. The pilot tried to blow the fuel tanks but stopped. The mindworms also stopped, held in some type of trance. The mindworms piled onto the rover and the rover sped away. The rover's driver muttered under his breath, "Yes, Lord Mind."

OOC: Ok, the chopper fired down on the rover group, inflicting about 10% more damage. The mindworms inflicted 20% damage, since they were in the center of the group. That brings the Hive forces there down to a 50% damaged rover group and a 10% damaged garrison. The Unity chopper sustained 60% damage and is now incapible of flying.

                      East of Planetneck...

Quietly, an Isle of the Deep hit the shore near Planetneck, on the Hive side. Several psi talents came off it and took control of the mindworms. Another talent went into the rover, killed the men inside of it, and drove it onto the Isle. While a psi was walking over to pick up a hurt mindworm she tripped on a small metal point coming out of the ground. A Unity mining laser was brought off the Isle and in a half hour the site was cleared. Inside a very strong metal case they found a Battle Ogre Mk II. The talents brought it on board the Isle. AntiMind would be pleased.

I may have another way for your troops to come to our aid. Its longer and riskier, and requires the cooperation of Foreman Domai, but I think I might be able to organise it.
My idea is to open a small channel through Free Drone territory, so that your troops can pass to our territory.
But first, lets see what Domai has to say about it.

Foreman, I would like to ask you for a favor. The war here in the east continent is going fast into a stalemate, and our new allies the Hive, can not bring their troops effectively into the war.
So, with your agreement, a small channel could be opened through Free Drone territory for the Hive troops to go through.
I give you my word that no aggression will occur towards your forces in any way, and of course you can monitor the channel carefully, if you so wish.
I hope we can get into an agreement, as this operation is vital to our war effort.

You are to use your artillery for counterbattery purposes. Keep the blanket of napalm down, but keep some artillery back. As soon as the presence of hostile troops in a certain area can be verified, pummel them. Reserve a few for fire only against spore launchers which have already fired, in case of decoys. You have a lot of artillery there, so use it. Meanwhile, continue bunker construction and set up a further defensive perimeter.

                          • Planetneck...

The probe team was franticly disassembling the damaged chopper to be loaded onto the old Unity rover they had found. The mindworm boils assigned to the fungus spread out as far as they could, to minimize contact with napalm. The rover's old engine was started and the reactor brought online. It came on with a smart voice that said,

"Good morning, Officer Yang. Welcome to Chiron."

The probes had a good laugh over that one.

They waited for a slight pause in the firing to speed away. They used that time to chip off the old packing material. They uncovered the UN seal showing the Earth's six inhabited..formerly inhabited..continents in between two (olive?) branches. They found inside a lockbox with "Officer" Yang's effects. Inside was a shreaddar pistol, psych wip, uniform, and a very old bottle of vodka. It had a "Good Luck from the Russian Federation, from Officer Zakharov" on it.

"Couldn't have really meant that," said one team member.

The napalm seemed to lighten off in their sector so they made a run for it.

                            VROOM! SCREECH! THA-THUNK!

About 50m away from their starting point and the engine's rubber fuel line crumbled. They felt a ripple from Planetmind and looked to their left. Slowly a mindworm slinked into of the fungus clearing. It raised a small, dead mindworm. It was burnt. Black from head to tail.

The mindworm, also burnt and slightly dazed, laid the small, dead mindworm at the Peacekeeper's feet. The head and tail were missing. It almost resembled a...pipe...rubber pipe!

The Peacekeeper picked up the small mindworm. He found that it was already hollowed out. He thanked the mindworm by touching its head. The mindworm disappeared. The man fastened the mindworm husk to the tube endings. When he turned around a small rock fell from the sky...or was it the fungus? He picked it up. A baby's Planetpearl.

The rover started up again and drove away.

As they left the fungus a unusually large napalm canister fell on the fungus patch. There was a few screams. Then silence.

OOC: One mindworm unit got 15% damage.

                              what are they?
They are in an alliance with University... They never responded so I assume that they
would ally since they are against planetminds closest allies.

Zakharov is still maintaining relations with planetmind however.

                              Morgan Ends War

Today in a shock move, CEO Nwandbike Morgan of the Morganites declared peace and
asked for asylum and safety from the war.

The war had been taking a large toll upon his country and his people due to the loss
of Morgan Bank and the stock markets inside of it. With his trade routes severed, Morgan
found it hard to control his people whom called for peace and prosperity.

Thus he has reneged the Apex Alliance and become a neutral country in this war.
He maintains cordial relations with Zakharov however and hopes to send supplies to our
country to support us in this war.

                              • OOC: Okay, i was wondering what Guardian was talking about some probe team creating riots in Data Acquisition. The post snuck pass me... just went back to read it and guardians.... CYBER!!! Your Probe Actions was illegal since THERE IS PK PROBE TEAM DEFENDING DATA ACQUISITION!!! pretty much to late, but the spartan probe team is DEAD for sure were the PK found them and eliminated them soon after that broadcast. The Cult units would get detected before reaching the Bunkers too. And clayson will not be able to create huge havoc and robotic state would be discovered, especially by mindworms and bioscan. Spartan doesn't have the tech to make proper cyborgs. Spartan Rovers will have a bit of hard time clearing out the Garrison units. And you may have a single unit at the Bunker, but they won't come to help attack Data Acquistion in time and have bunkered OK Gatling Squads with ECM in nearby squares, so the Single X Rover unit will have trouble getting through the Zone of Control by itself.
SMAC, will get map done soon i promise! and Morganites wouldn't go almost at the other side of the continent to help University when they are having their own problems with the Data Angels on their front :P Darkcloud, Morganites can't supply University if their Neutral, especially with Data Angel and maybe Cyborg Units between the Morganites and University. And i have plans which would help the Morganites. Chris, where did the Battle Ogre Mk2 come from??

That won't be possible Colonel, as the Free Drones are Neutral. By allowing Hive units traverse our territory would be aiding your alliance, breaking our neutrality. Also, my people will not like the idea, especially after my faction witness the recordings sent from somewhere near Janissary Rock. Doesn't matter who sent it, as the footages ain't fake.

I suggest that you stop trying to ask favors from my faction and I.

                                Foreman Domai

Note: Neutral reaction, as always when dealing with Santiego, but Free Drones and Domai's opinions of Spartans not very good, which has been lowering since Spartans allied with Hive, the closing of their borders, to asking to do things which would make Domai look like a hypocrite to his ow beliefs and so on

Morganites have back out of the war!...

CEO Morgan of the Morganite faction declared that his faction back out of the war and declares Neutrality. Svensgaard's recognizes this decision and have ordered our Main Fleet to cease all bombardments of Morganite bases.

                                Inspiration Point

LMP travelled to Inspiration Point from believer territory on a Pirate Probe Cruiser, along with a Believer Probe Team. He agreed, as favor to Miriam, to lead a Believer Probe Team into University territory, has he was going there himself. This would be the second believer probe team sent to University of Planet in past decade. It seems that the believers has started spreading their religion overseas. He has met up with the Nautilus Probe Team N-12 and also happened to have met up with a Data Angel Probe Team aswell, planning to do some covert ops in University. Now, he is to lead three Probe Teams into University territory and after that, the believers and angels will part their ways while he leads N-12 to University Base. But first, they have to get into University territory. That may be hard as there is currently various small scale battles happening north of inspiration point at the univ-cyborg borders between the University forces and the Cyborgs/Angels. While making plans with the probe team commanders, he finds out that a nautilus battle dragon unit from Planetary Council base is being transfered here. When the Battle Dragon unit arrived at Inspiration Point, he contacted it commander and has agreed to his plan. the Battle Dragon unit will help sneak in the probe teams into University territory while protecting them from enemy units. the day after, they left Inspiration Point to the borders...
