Good idea Googlie, but I have a game (sports, not SMAC :-) every Monday night. Perhaps we should instead fix a specific date/time that we could chat on.

Ah, I forgot, I'm running the PK's now, not the Spartans

Good point, Senatus (Hydro and i had a great blether tonight)

        Going by the numbers:

        Senatus, unavailable on mondays
Tuesdays, I'm loth to clash with Vel's site's jam session (even if his room has been deserted for about a month)
        Thursdays I'm unavailable afternoons/evenings

        Hydro?
        Argonaut?
        Anyone else?

(Hydro will be circulating the discussion notes of this evening to Senatus and Argonaut)

Yeah, Svensgaard was giving me lip in my last game so I just decided to up and blow him away . Seriously though, since both he and dcole seem long inactive, I felt inclined to clean up some loose ends. If anyone actually needs him, I can have him rescued by sealurks or something.

            Hello, hello, hello!

Man you guys have been busy in these two weeks. I knew my e-mail was going to be flooded but bloody hell! I'm working on some serious catching up reading (it's helping me fight the jet-lag but I'm probably going to have to re-read everything once I get out of my semi-concious state. I appreciate all the transcrpits, haven't had a chance to look through it all but I shall certainly do so tomorrow. As for meetings, I have a relatively flexible schedule as I'm currently unemployed. I've got relatives coming over from England (yes I know I was just there, it wasn't my idea) so I could be running around a bit, so just let me know and I will try and work around it. Anyways, talk to you guys later I'm off to do some reading!

Okay, I've done all my reading and I think I'm back to speed. I like all the ideas from the transcripts it all sounds good to me. Just so everyone knows, I've decided not to give Roze a base, it just makes her more of a target instead for Yang and it's not a good move strategically. Basically, Data DeCentral is just going to be a facility similar to the Hive Covert-Ops Centre which the Circle is currently working out of. It is located at (76, 80) in the Gaian territory near Garden of Paradise. Anyways, I've got some thinking to do. Is there a meeting tonight?

You still around? Did you have plans to finish your mission to abduct an alien? Just curious, because there are some potential plans regarding that. Just curious.

I kind of made Miriam a bit preachy. But, somehow it fits! Hopefully I got the tone right.

"Hopefully"? You're kidding, that was fantastic, IMO. Got my conception of the two characters dead on, and added facets to them. One of the best things about the Chronicles is that each of our characters grow when exposed to another author, and in interactions with other authors' characters. I know I got much better writing the Believers thanks to the joint effort that Argo and I did with Zak and Sharra. Very nice!

My pen has been silent for many moons. If anyone could give me a short overview of things I could take up the Caretakers again.

                            Barbarossa,

The best way to get updated is to review the posts. Also, every Monday at 8:00 pm est (US) we have a SC chat at Googlie's web site. I can send you the transcripts, which are an ad hoc compilation/stream of consciousness summary of our thoughts about SC's near and ultimate future. Of course, your comments are welcome. I need an e-mail address, though, or some other way to get it to you. I have the transcripts for July 24, July 31, and Aug 14th.

                                senetus,

You know, you are absolutely correct that borrowing characters is a great way to expand them, since they generally gain a whole new dimension through someone else’s eyes (er, fingers?). Your, Argo, and Googlie’s interaction a little while ago was really terrific, and I enjoyed every word of it.

Of course there are risks. Googlie foolishly let me ‘borrow’ Sarah almost a year ago. Now she has been transformed from a big hearted but lost young Spartan empath into what might be a Planet transcendi. Who’d a thunk it? I always wondered how Planet punishes those who transgress against it if it wasn’t truly sentient (yet). It could be like white blood cells in a human – reflexive and automatic, but random. But it is much more interesting if there is a purpose. Does such power corrupt? We will see…

So far no one (except me) has crossed the line in character borrowing. I borrowed one of Korn’s characters a long time ago, and he objected. That post was deleted. Fair is fair.
