  • plot after smac/smacx?

in a thread in the civ3 forum(http://apolyton.net/forums/Forum6/HTML/000943.html), "the diplomat" had some ideas for a sequel of the plot of smacx

    so, other suggestions?

    MarkG:

We are going to be expanding - and expounding - somewhat on the early history of the Aliens - the manifold experiments, the cataclysm in their homeworld, etc, but as part of the Crossfire Tales - they could be spun off into a stand-alone fiction series - The Progenitors - if we find we are dragging the Tales down with 2000 year old history.

Well perhaps you haven't noticed but trancendi (sorry bad speller)people ...well are abit like gods......so i don't think we should expand the story line....foward in time....rather, perhaps we should expand the knowledge by building on the current story. We need more unit control then we have now in smac, yes i understand that it may turn into a rts, but we must connect the two industries to get a great game. 3d graphics and impoving animation is all nice, but control and gameplay is what sents a game apart. Look at blizzard's starcraft, when it came out it was even low tech animation compared to other games like age of empires.....but yet people still continue to play it. Its because the gameplay and control is so great.

Looking for new story lines, may not be the way to go in the next generation. Perhaps expanding the current smac, enabling to go to mult-planets and interspace battles could be a way to go...but only time will tell, and we will have to see what sid's new game is also.
