It was yet another day on the planet Chiron. Things were peaceful in the morning, as was usual in this sector of pristine, unsettled land. Pterodactyls soared overhead, cackling their morning songs. The sun was rising, as usual. If it hadn't been for the purple sky, and the bizarre flora, and fauna, you could have almost sworn it was Earth.
However, sooner or later, all that was going to change...
And for that particular area, that time was now.
There was suddenly a loud rumbling, and the sky was changed from purple, to a shade of glowing scarlet. A long, blue fireball plunged out of the sky, and crashed into the ground. The earth...um...Chiron shook with the force of the impact, then seemed to literally ripple. Trees were torn out of the ground, and a nearby stream was practically rerouted.
The smoke soon cleared to reveal a long, cylindrical shape sticking out of the ground. In appearance, the rear end was reminiscent of a 20th century orbital launch rocket. And the object bore no U.N. markings. Instead, there was a single American flag painted on...
