I have found that if I have played other direct-to-screen games, such as Warcraft III, or Diablo II, or WoW, or Heroes V, etc., and have not rebooted since, that occasionally SMAC crashes.

Interesting. But why to this game only? I play 5 more PBEM and to none has ever happened.

BTW, none of the games are on my list. Played all, but none stuck. Maybe etc.?

I have found that SMAC/X and CivIV really don't like eachother. If I play my Civ Turn first then my machine just goes crazy when I try to run SMAC. Even if it does run it screws my display and refresh up so badly that nothing else will run properly either so I always have to do a reboot.
