i don't mind having a fifth player in the game. even if everybody says 4 (players) is the right number for a PBEM, i'm in a game with 5 players and it has a very good turning speed.

Could you be more specific about the turn speed?

Turn speed could be called a sum of the time every player usually takes to receive, play the turn and send it, (including all the time the file waits in a mailboxes). So the more players, the more time.

Let other players say what they think about 5 player game.

I usualy play in single player:

Huge planet, 30-50% surface, Weak errosion, Abundant lifeforms, Dense cloud cover, Transcendent level, all victories and only "look first" and "Iron Man" selected.

I go with Gaians. So that is the strategy i am accustomed to.

No problem with the settings except maybe "look first".

Hi,
I play patched SMAC with Gaians on standard rules and map but I'm open to changes. Sadly, I'm unable to obtain Alien Crossfire.

I'm more interested in a story and role-playing then winning so I seek like-minded players.
