Announcement ! tcp/ip players needed

Hi,

I just wanted to say, for that game, and further games in tcp/ip to be continued in pbem, please leave time to players to finish thier turns before quitting. As you may notice in UEFB, now i have riots in one or more of my bases because the turn passed automatically when the games switches to pbem. I haven't had time to chosse what i would build also: more mineral and ressources wasted because of the switch to pbem. I would ask you please be polite and wait when everyone is ready to leave the game. It is pretty annoying to loose time and ressources every time we stop playing.

yeah it was, but when we switch to pbem, a turn passes automatically. What happened is that some players left at the beginning of the turn: when we switch to pbem, the turn passes automatically. So if players left at the beginning of turn, (when every building was produced, many bases on stockpile energy and before checking bases for riots), this is as if we skipped the control of one turn and not changing anything during that turn, resulting in base riots and wasted production points in stockpile energy. No way also to hurry production, move military units... The turn passes automatically when we switch to pbem, and if a player leaves at the beginning of the turn by saving, some players(or everyone) will skip controlling one turn.

nope, the save i took when leaving myself when everyone was gone

i don't think we'll have this problem if we start the PBEM from the autosave. i only experienced this problem once, but the PBEM was started from a mid turn save.
Here you can find a program to run SMAC in windowed mode.

@uselesses: can you start the PBEM from the autosave of last week's game?

assuming Hercules wants to continue this game (he has the WP), we (meaning: UEBH) need to reload the game on TCP/IP for him to take over the Hive from the AI.

I wish to invite Elian and Uselesses to 2v2(team play game) on vets map4. I have allready prepared a scenario in wich i play Hive, Dan plays Angels and i have placed PK and Gaia for you 2. It's a game with no pods so if you dont want Gaia, i will replace it.

If one of you cant join, i see no problem for a diferent player.

If you have somthing in mind for tonight sesion, i see no problem again. We can play this another time.You can look at this as a trial for a game against monty(i can use the traning myself )

I will try and make a vets map4 with pods but still balanced. It will take some time to place all the bonus resources at there exact position, but i'm sure it will be fun.

EDIT: Harder then expected to place pods and keep the bonus resources in there place. You have to place pods by hand. Crazy

In UEFB, A player left again when i wasn't ready and the turn has passed giving me another bug-revolt. I would really appreciate if we connect to fix this, as the player left when i haven't had time to check my bases.

Would be good to play these games by pbem instead of starting a new one that won't probably continue until 2200. I propose to play turns of the games we've started instead of starting another, even if we don't connect to a TCP game. Just sending the turns and checking a few times during the evening if the turn has arrived might be great.

Also would prefer to continue an old IP game. But playing PBEM simultanously would be a huge waste of time.
