And my reward? A nice shiny new cell down "Punishment Sphere Way"! Kinda lonely here right now, but I don't think I'll be the only one here for long!

Turn finally sent, sorry drow, played most of it last week except for the spending part again, which in the end only took me 7 minutes
NO biggie since I think mid said he was away until the 21st anyway

"Operation Southern Glory is proceeding within the planned parameters"
" Very well.. what of the North?"
" Sebp remains a formidable foe and we must take much care on our northern boundaries"
"What of drow and his morganites?"
" We have no real quarrel with them but our agents moved last month to prevent their researchers from attaining some key technologies. While we cannot prevent sebp from gaining those technologies, we can delay him by preventing tech contributions from other factions"

I am not completely finished the turn yet but I am unable to "officially" eliminate mid on this turn. He is down to one last base with a former inside though. I could have killed the former but would not have been able to get a troop there to capture the base . But I absolutely have the ability to capture the base next turn.
Mid . . . you should probably rush a scout next turn (disband your former to help if you need to) so that your last base can be obliterated the following turn -- IN case you didn't know, there is a bug that really really screws up the game if a player's last base is CAPTURED by another human player in a PBEM
If you want to be done, you can send me your password and I can attend to it by having drow pass the turn to me. Or you can do it yourself-- either way works if you are going to be around
I do want to thank you for being a reliable player throughout the game and wish you well if we should meet on Chiron again. This has been a very interesting and fun game.
"Sir, the Southern Expeditionary Task force is being recalled after completion of a successful mission. The Peacekeeper and Gaian lands are peaceful and our new citizens are enjoying the wealth and prosperity we offer. We expect those citizens will be making substantial contributions to our production shortly.
The Task force has split. About a tenth of the forces are remaining in the south for worm protection and policing duties. The bulk of the force is being moved north for homeland defense or patrolling between our lands and those of sebp"
" What operations have we undertaken in the north?"
" Very small scale sir. As you directed, the bulk of the forces moved south. IN retrospect, far fewer forces would have sufficed but we plan for adverse contingencies. In the north we undertook some covert operations against the Morganites to hamper their scientific research but have otherwise left them alone. Against the drones we have implemented an aggressive patrolling program . In addition we have conducted a couple of long range raids, but frankly we have maintained a largely defensive posture. WE in the military would like to recommend the funding of additional unit construction . . . "
" That is not planned. You have just completed telling me that we had more than enough units for our prior missions. Our focus now needs to be
on the economy and ensuring that all our people benefit from our industrial capacity"

Flubber - no, I'd not heard of that bug. I'll email you my password.
If you search for it, you will find information on it. I remember the first time I saw it, it had a huge impact. people found that bases for ALL empires had disappeared and many bases were reduced in population and facilities. It was as if a genetic plague atrocity had been performed on each and every base on the planet.
It only happens in multiplayer and even then , it is still ok to capture a last base of an AI. In this game its no problem since your last base can be destructed without issue but sometimes when the last base is big or has Special Projects, the conquerer wants to keep it and they have to found additional base to be the one obliterated.
So now you know for next time. I am actually tempted to go back and capture Darsnan's last base just to see what would happen

2216 sent. very sorry for the long time i took again, basically i have this situation in university were i didn't work enough for the last 2 or 3 months and am now stressed so i mostly play when i feel i should really really finally send on the turn + i'm losing which is why i do 2 or 3 turns in my civ games (where i'm winning) in the time i do 1 turn over here
Anyways, don't get me wrong, i'm NOT just playing because of obligation, i want to see what i can still do - it's just this game is both lower priority AND more work than the others so the current speed will probably be how i finish this
BTW, does anyone remember when the sea levels will rise?
