Folks ---- Just to be clear -- Did we decide that the Empath GUild and CBA were NOT to be built in this game ??

I just read this thread again and our CMN mentioned it as a possibility and it was raised once since but I have never seen everyone unequivocally agree on it although there have been comments in that direction

I couldn't find any earlier references to after darsnans opening post which mentions "ongoing discussion", so i guess they would be allowed.
also, i think in the early arguments i always said i like the guild while you said you don't so it would look really funny for me to cry foul here if you build it

Those were the references I saw as well-- The mid post does imply those two would not be allowed and I am happy enough to have neither but we are getting to the stage where it should be made certain. I remember in the setup thread we talked about it but I don't remember that all five weighed in.

Oh and sebp-- my ability to perhaps get the Empath GUild or not does not weigh much in my thinking. I always disliked it as I figured people should have to work on getting infiltration and with both an EG and governorship infiltration possible, it made the probe game less important. I think the probe game is a big part of Smax . .. something I am pretty sure you would agree with

The CBA-- it is really powerful but people win games without it all the time so I don't care either way. On the Empath Guild I would vote to disallow it but would yield to a majority that feels the opposite

if everyone else could vote or comment we could put this to bed-- Oh and if ANYONE feels that since it was not specifically disallowed then it should be absolutely allowed, I would respect that and play accordingly

I checked my posts from the Setup thread, it seems i didn't really care then though i said i like the guild. Whatever, I'll just go with not caring again.

Both are "usually" allowed but I have seen an increasing number of games where one or the other or both are NOT allowed ( as well as a number of other custom rules)

As I said earlier I am fine with whatever the group wants , I just want clarity and I suspect everyone else wants it too.

As well, if ANY one player wants to say that since we didn't ban them at the start, they are allowed .. . I would respect that position since none of us could have any idea what actions people might have taken toward obtaining one of these SPs already.

I agree as far as the EG is concerned. If any ONE person wants it in, i support that, and then i guess it would be in with 3 votes.

On the subject of the CBA , it's early enough to vote based on preferences mostly, and i've come to a conclusion. I now vote for disallowing it.

CBA is looking out-- I don't care either way and there are two votes for out

EG is looking out but both sebp and I seem to agree that if any player felt strongly it should stay in-- it wasn't explicitly banned at the outset and someone may be beelining to its tech as we speak
