Call To Power 2 Cradle 3+ mod in progress: https://apolyton.net/forum/other-games/call-to-power-2/ctp2-creation/9437883-making-cradle-3-fully-compatible-with-the-apolyton-edition
Now that I've infiltrated you I am indeed impressed by the metric ****ton of rovers you've built. However, they will do you little good. Turn back now or face my wrath!
There comes a point in every Hive game where I just do not know what to build. Yang is strange one in smac, as he renders most facilities and many of the SPs redundant with his land-zerg. So I figured this time that with my PTS aided girth, I would produce an army capable of running headlong into a drawn out battle against perimiter defences and sensor arrays. I hope to produce a domino effect. Once I have penetrated your initial bases, defenses will have to be spread so thinly that you will fall in a matter of minutes. Having used my immense mathematical knowledge to calculate odds and tactical assaults, I have come to the conclusion that you will it will take only 2 turns for all of your bases to run away scared.
Clearly, I have no idea what I am talking about, so I might as well wrap this post up here.
Learn to overcome the crass demands of flesh and bone, for they warp the matrix through which we perceive the world. Extend your awareness outward, beyond the self of body, to embrace the self of group and the self of humanity. The goals of the group and the greater race are transcendant, and to embrace them is to acheive enlightenment.
The trade route superhighway into Hive (Zang-gief) territory is almost complete. So far only minor resistance to this new route has been encountered. 100 rovers have been deployed to ensure its safe completion. The one true Chairman (to crush them all) has assured Zangief/Senethro that no aggressive military action against any base or colony is planned. However, it is believed that he had his fingers crossed at the time.

Maybe I looked at my own datalinks wrong. I'm sure I've got ~65impacts ~25silksteels and a handful of synthametals and recons for general annoyance purposes (die formers die die)
Edit: or maybe you've already destroyed a large portion of my army????
Edit: Forgot to mention there's a reload. My HDD has started to crash regularly (again). I've got a back up hard disk which I will try to remember to use for future turns.
Also, Senethro (great Russian hero), I need to pick your brains about Morgan for another pbem of mine, which has just come back to life after being comatose for several months. I had a text document with lots of helpful tips from a conversation between us (which was my bible while playing the aforementioned pbem), but I lost it the last time I had these HDD problems and had to format & reinstall windows. I was hoping that if you have time while you arent busy learning about the human reproductive system that you could write me a short email outlining some things I should know. I am particularly interested in getting early FM working as it has cause many problems in my SP games. A couple save games will be especially helpful if you've got.
I just ICS with morgan and build lotsa formers and crawlers ... one trick pony lol
Turn sent

Theres a few tricks you have to do though. The first is an unusual tech route.
C. ecology --> I. Economics --> Biogenetics --> Industrial Automation.
You then aggressively hurry recycling tanks in every base, sometimes with the free 10 minerals the base comes with. As soon as you hit the first bureacracy limit you set psych to 20% (REQUIRES TANKS AND VALUE: WEALTH ALREADY IN EFFECT) to pick up 2 psych per base. This lets your new bases ignore drones and your old bases grow large.
Sounds weird, but I'm not kidding. You can grow to size 20 in 2150 doing this, even without rainy squares and nut bonuses. And remember thats without using Planned too.
The tanks also let you have 2 formers per base. Don't build police scouts, since you can't use police. DO build recon rovers and probe defenders. DO aggressively patrol your borders and sensor array EVERYTHING. You are incredibly vulnerable and your opponents should logically attack you at this point. See if you can play the diplomacy game and buy them off. Offer techs for Treaties. Especially try to get a Pact with any other ICSers. +2 energy per base is free money that can go into psych or what have you.
If it comes to war, use recon rovers to chop stacks up and probes to buy their units. Human units are sickeningly cheap to buy, especially if far from their HQ, especially if you have a lot of cash and a high Econ rating. Don't forget that mindcontrolling a base they capture from you will also get all units in the adjacent territory.
My Morgan play has matured quite a lot since our game together, Laz. The trick is in the opening and getting past the shortage of minerals/lack of growth/drones.
Midgame is where I get confused however. You have many priorities. These are Environmental Economics and Air power and clean units. If you establish a good trading relationship then you will be at Air Power before most momentum players can be at your doorstep. Its cheap, but its easy and that shouldn't stop you from doing it. Researching all of those on your own can be a problem however.
The various considerations here are getting air power to defend yourself, lifting energy restriction, and getting the former-power to do the normal ICS terraformign scheme. Its pretty hard to do all this on your own. The Hive has a research limitation, the University has a (comparative) production limitation, Morgan has a former power limit. While you've seen a solution I sometimes use to overcome the Hive's problem, the best one I've managed for both Uni and Morgan is to designate 4 production bases. Give them about 5 crawlers on forests/RockyMines each and spam formers. These formers immediately spam boreholes at their home bases allowing more former spam. Spammed formers then get to work on doing the massive terraforming jobs. I'd do this at about the same time as I do condensers in my designated early specialist bases.
Good projects: PTS, PEG, Consider also the VW if vs. a Uni player. Hurried network nodes are a realistic drone control option in HQ and designated priority specialist bases. Ascetic Virtues. The bugger about a Morgan ICS is getting to 5 population with the base size restriction. AV saves you 3ec per base per turn and gives you pacifism free air units with Police State.
Final random notes: Don't build military units, upgrade basic units. Use your income as your production.
