Howdy all ...

I've played exactly one PBEM game in the past ( Gaians, overrun by Sparta after about a dozen turns ... however, I did stick out getting smashed ... ) , and plenty of SP games ... and have reviewed the strategy tips posted on this forum ( and improved my game SP considerably as a result ).

I'd like to get in on a a game ... if you have an AI faction that needs a little less random stupidity, or a player that has zombied out , please post an invite.

I bet this happaned a few years ago, when games focused much more on momentum players and sparta was top-notch. games are pretty builder-oriented now, i wouldnt expect to be smashed by rovers.

looking for a 4 player game? i know mart was looking for some action at cgn,and i myself could play another. might be able to get a posse rounded up...

I personally prefer builder / sandcastle-maker mode, so that won't be an issue ... of course, if I get stuck with fungi-boy or some such, I'll hoist the jolly roger instead.


I am not participating in any other games ( obviously ), so I should be able to devote full attention to this one. I can handle one, maybe two turns an evening ...

If you're starting up a fresh game, count me in. I haven't played a pbem before, but Senethro's been my Mr Miyagi, so I might be able to put up a decent fight. Should be able to manage a turn per day. I'd like to play Zak. If not, perhaps you'd let me play Yang - I dont have much experience with the other factions. Or rather, I havent had much (read: any) success with the other factions.

If you have room for one more noob I'm interested. I've never played a PBEM before though and only recently started playing single player again so my skills are kinda lacking.

hmmm 5 player has higher risk of sinking, but on other hand more people to nerve gas more friendly commerce partners

where is the starter player? well, in his absence i propose say 30-50% continents( everyone gets his own, with small water striaghts) and all average with high rainfall. no random events, and look first on...and maybe +1\+2 colony pod to make it go faster?

My experience was that I never played in a 5 player game that finished, except one, while 4 player games finished frequently.

I just know I would never choose to play in anything with more than 4 players.

My first PBEM has seven players. And I say *has* because it hasn't finished yet; it is year 2130, and no one got Industrial Automation (thanks to blind research). Started about a year ago.

The set up you have recommended sounds fine.

I'll need 3 other players.

What is the usual method for choosing factions?
