    Do you have preferences for the AI factions?
    In the SP game I'm playing with it atm the Believers did well in the early game, as do the Morgans (being isolated on a continent) and the Peacekeepers (started on the Monsoon)

      How modified are the factions? Should I choose Miriam for example- or would that be a disaster? I'm thinking I might be interested the Angels or else the Consciousness.

          The Believer I guess would be an obvious faction to test out - the universally despised faction. Problem of course is to roleplay and test out that faction well I'd have to kick your asses, which you might not like.

          The Cult and Gaians would be fun to play, especially since I wanted to make a green strategy as powerful as the more traditional b-lines. Problem though is those two factions wouldn't really benefit from an aquatic game - especially the Gaians who I think are best to follow a forest terraformation strategy, not possible in the sea of course.

          Perhaps the Hive? Due to the changed SE system, they are now capable of popbooming. To balance that out, their immunity to efficiency has been removed. Meaning they'll face a -2 Efficiency and -3 Research penalty running their usual Police State - Planned combo. So it would be good to test how that works out.
          Furthermore, it's ages ago I played that faction in single player and never played it in multiplayer, so actually I wouldn't have much of an advantage strategy-wise for that faction.

          The four factions that would play dramatically different are the Cult, Gaians, Hive and Morganites. The Angels have stronger Probe benefits. The Consciousness and University's +2 Research has been scrapped but instead they received a bonus to techcost: only 70% for the CyCon and 80 for the UoP. (This was done because it's possible to get +5 Research in social engineering, which is also the cap of which you can get benefits from that SE factor. So without this change those two factions would have had no benefit from running the +5 Research SE combo.) For all the other factions, only their SE preferences and aversions have been changed, though of course they can all be played differently because of the new SE system and tech tree.

            Hi All,

            I replied to Kirov's PM, but haven't heard back from him yet (is he offline on the weekends?). Anyways, the jist of my reply was asking exactly what is explected of me. Am I just building the map, or am I generating the whole PBEM with SManiaC Factions and alphax.txt file? This wasn't completely clear to me in the PM.
            Anyways, if this can be clarified, then I can proceed accordingly.
            Oh yeah, and if its SManiaC Factions (and alphax.txt file), then if you could just upload them here (along with what has been agreed upon for the game settings), then that would be easier for me.
            As for the AI's, I can do the Faction.txt files myself....

              I guess the whole PBEM and all else necessary is best, as to avoid that different people are tinkering with it without knowing from the others intend.

              And AFAIK, all SManiAC files can be found in Maniac's sig.

                  Sorry, should have been more clear: I'd rather not download the whole mod currently if I don't have to. Thats why I was asking if someone could post up the pertinent files for me.

                      To let Darsnan prepare a map for us we need to pick factions, guys.

                      Kirov: Spartans
                      GeoModder: Gaians
                      Maniac: Hive?
                      Hobbes: ?

                      Maniac, could you send Darsnan all the relevant files, that means up-to-date alphax.txt and faction files that you've changed?

                      Another thing is that Maritime Control Center has to be disabled, and all faction that gonna play should get Doc:Flex and Aquatic ability. Which also means that Believers are much stronger here than on a standard map...

                        I was waiting for which factions will be in the game before uploading edited aquatic versions. However I can attach them all thirteen (minus Pirates) tomorrow (hopefully).
