    Two more quotes:
He fears violence. "We're going to have to review our security. You know what they're like when they've been drinking. They're on a mission to get drunk," he said.
Reminds me how a bunch of Irish got hospitalised after touching one russian guy..

Being in Latvia, never insult a Russian, they never fight one on one.

"Latvians don't go to pubs to get drunk. It's a society problem in Britain and Ireland. It's not a Riga problem. It's our problem, and it's coming to Riga."
Yeah, it's true Latvians don't go to pubs to get drunk, they rather get drunk at their summer residences, orat home..
But actually there's an increasing tendency for ignoring alchohole for young people.
We just see previous generation badly drunk and it disgusts us.

      Yep that's it.

Sad, but reality, I think it's not only the problem of Latvia, but as Latvian girls seem to be caring about their looks more than anywhere in the world (at least Europe), Latvia has become the favourite place for such tourists.

Latvians call those girls whores and rarely get into any serious relation with such as there are plenty of other beautiful girls, who are also easy to get, but not for money.

Actually knowing all that I sometimes come to a thought "how good it is I already have one for a lifetime!".
Yeah I would think it's a problem all over at popular tourist destinations, just that degrees vary depending on where. For instance in Kenya, in cities, if you see local women out and around after sunset especially in or near ex-pats haunts, odds are good that those are prostitutes. The locals very much look down on them.

Don't get me wrong, while I definitely appreciate a beautiful woman, this kind of behavior isn't something I want to encourage and women definitely will not get my money for getting laid. I'm too cheap for that

Was not meaning prostitutes actually and was not meaning giving money physically.

Was meaning - buying drinks, expensive things (clothes, jewelry) etc.

        Heh, yeah same here.
I actually think that the people who have lotsa money tend to think everything can be bought and where's need is supply..

Why the pessimistic perspective? You are exaggerating somewhat about the number of girls who want a rich foreigner and get laid and get stuff from him. Yes I am aware there are these girls, but really, there aren't terribly many of them. We have a ton of very good and very faithul girls.

Of course, it's also our wages and prices, well, you know what they are . If a girl can maybe get a fulltime job for 100 lats a month, she's rather lucky, plus that money would seem laughable to any Westerner as a monthly wage!

BTW, it's the tourist season again. Last week, I was over at the Akmens tilts and RTU area, tons of Germans. Today, at and around Bastejkalns, tourists of all flavours. Some good looking, too .

I was not saying there aren't many of them, I was just adressing the "nice bear and cheap girls" quote from the link CT gave.

And Im not exaggerating the numbers just a bit disgusted by the fact itself no matter how logical it may seem (call me a moron! ).

Let's hope Latvia can go in the Euro-club pretty soon, easier for 'poorer' tourists to go to such countries.

That's really funny, the only two people @Poly from Latvia meet in a thread (meant only to notice someones absence, nothing more) in some Multiplayer forum for some old but still popular game and speak offtopic (while one of them is from the moderator stuff in is clearly aware that this is not the right place for that) about Latvian girls, which immediately spurs interest about Latvia in the community of named game with some slipping into nostalgic memories how they once dated a terrific Latvian gal, some expressing their goodwill to tiny country called Latvia and all the other visitors of named thread hitting "Latvia" in the Google input field just to check what the heck are these guys talking about.
