AFAIK, files need to be converted to "file" format if you try to load them into one of the hex-text redactors..

erm, I didnt use any editors/viewers - just renamed it to correct typo, and forgot that i have to type .sav extension
besides - does it really matter what extension file does have, when you want to see its content?

Yes, indeed, boreholes are great - they let you have insane outputs even with low population (and its total outputs that count, not population, after all).
And because You have low population, others mistake you for being weak, gladly PACT with You... only to be beaten badly when you choose to reveal your strenght

Now, this turn got me reloading!
I don't know why it happened, but I tried to play turn 3 times and it crushed each time on different action..
Was so mad I almost broke my keyboard into pieces.
At the end I reinstalled SMACX and now it seems working.
Popped 1 pod this turn (the only elemt of random) and each time I did get worse results.
First time I got nice instabuild, last I got sonar pod which didn't reveal a single square as I already knew everything around.
Apologies.
