Just open the alphax.txt in notepad or word (if word, make sure that you save it afterwards as a .txt file and not a word file) and make one change:
about ten lines from the end of the #RULES section (the first section) you'll see a line:
0, ; If non-zero, humans can always contact each other in hotseat/email games
Just change that "0" to a "1" and next time you open the turns you'll be able to contact one another
It'll speed up the game as well, as you'll get techs and treaties/pact income earlier as a resultComment
