    Rules attached from the sign up post. We let that post die and this is our turn tracking thread. Game started by Googlie (CMN). Empath Guild was disabled.

      Ah but I liked dirty and cliche . Turn sent to Arcaniate. I thought that we each started off with some allies...but I do not seem to have any...

      Also we are not contacting anyone until we find them in game correct?

        Not allies, just "friendly" AI somewhere on the map. Yeah standard rules i guess, no contact until we've found each other, bought comms or council convened.

          Turn sent to Lazerus. For the purposes of this game, dacole has to receive and send his sav files unzipped to get it through his university's security. Also, no communication without contact except here.

              If you make one change to your alpha.tzt (as most of us that play PBEMs have), then you'll be unable to contact in-game until physical contact is made or you otherwise get the commlink.

              This change is simple - change a 1 to a 0 in the bolded line below (towards the end of the #RULES early section of alpha.txt):

              Gravity, ; Technology to allow orbital insertion w/o Space Elevator
              EcoEng2, ; Technology for +1 mining platform bonus
              PlaEcon, ; Technology for economic victory
              1, ; If non-zero, probe teams can steal technologies
              1, ; If non-zero, humans can always contact each other in net games
              0, ; If non-zero, humans can always contact each other in hotseat/email games
              50, ; Maximum % damage inflicted by arty versus units in base/bunker
              99, ; Maximum % damage inflicted by arty versus units in open

              1, 1 ; Numerator/Denominator for frequency of global warming (1,2 would be "half" normal warming).

                      Scout patrol encounters native life forms, scientists have classified these giant mottled worms as parasetic and thus dangerous. Flame guns were quickly equipped and the following combat saw the creatures destroyed.
