Well, a "diplomatic" victory- particularly in a game structured like this one is a misnomer. I don't think you should get to have a "diplomatic" victory on the basis of a large population- after all, where was the diplomacy? No-one other than your 2 factions supports you! The game offers the option of dissenting & I have exercised that option.

The victory condition might as well not be in the game if you dissent simply because you can. It's suicidal to oppose a player with that much of a population lead, and I'm happy to demonstrate why.
