Each of your Factions met a Crossroads on the Unity, and made an irreversible decision that has led you to the surface of Planet. Now, once again, each of you are faced with a crossroads, and once again the course you each decide to take your Factions is irreversible.......

Yoda: The missing Centauri Ecology research choice is a known problem when setting up a PBEM. In order for the CMN to assign the correct technologies to each faction the game sets the 'have traded technology' flag on. And thus your research options change. Depending on the faction order technology choices may vary. There is no known way around this 'problem'.
