The reasonable man adapts himself to the world; the unreasonable one persists in trying to adapt the world to himself. Therefore all progress depends on the unreasonable man. --G.B.Shaw

Scorpi, the issue isn't whether if you did send the turn or not. The issue is more of have you been checking this thread on a more regular basis? Seems that the email notification of new postings is not being effective in bringing your attention to this thread.
This goes for everybody, really. If we all take time to physically check the thread to see if there's a new posting or not, we would be aware of any problems sooner than if we were to wait for someone to PM us.
This is just a suggestion .

Let's just keep the game going please?
Zerokal, it's your turn. Obstructor attached the file straight to the message board so you don't even need to check e-mail...

Arcainite entered the new communication chamber of the Peacekeepers' first base. "Arcainite to Zerokal. We have established ourselves on planet. I recommend we not antagonize the others. It would be best to have other allies, especially if we landed far away from each other. Who will they believe anyway, the paranoid schizophrenic Scorpi or the leader of the Peacekeepers? Perhaps, if we explained how we were doublecrossed ourselves it would even repair the rift with Scorpi. Probably not though. We'd best be prepared to sabotage his colonization efforts. And wreak our vengeance upon Morgan!"Last edited by Arcainite; May 14, 2004, 17:00.

It'd be ironic if we wind up replacing Zerokal *smirk*
I'll PM him immediately and see if that works. If not, well, if it is agreed upon by everybody, I'll seek a replacement.

Commander Googlie?
I looked up from the screen that was occupying my attention, glad of the interruption. Trying to identify who amongst the colonists would be candidates for the next homeguard garrison was trying work.
It was Sergio Bonaventura, the lead scientist of our fledgling command structure, accompanied by his striking assistant, Voki. His shoulders were stooped and he looked misearable.
Yes, Sergio. What can I do for you?
His eyes downcast, he stammered ….
It’s Lieutenant Zerokal, Sir. Bad news. He was in the training arena with some recruits and a fleshette pistol misfired. He was hit.
My eyes bored into him. He was clearly holding something back.
Badly hurt, I presume, else you wouldn’t be here. How badly? A few days – weeks?
Bonaventura looked up at me, his eyes misting over.
Dead, he said, with a chilling finality.
We tried all we could to revive him, but were getting no signal display at all. We finally gave up after a few hours. You’re next in command, Sir. Could you address the troops and civilians? We must have continuity of command at this crucial time. I’m sure you understand. And, Sir, you have our full support. All of us.
I squared my shoulders and stood up. I wasn’t trained for this. Zerokal had been Corrie’s right hand man all through the Unity fiasco, and when she’d been killed in the infighting when the ship’s collapse was imminent it had been Zerokal who’d risen to the occasion. He was the natural leader. I was more of a logistics man, a quartermaster so to speak.
But Sergio was right. I too had been Corrie’s hand picked man, though picked for different skills. Now greatness was being thrust upon me by my ranking peers.
I snapped off a salute.
Thank you, Doctor Bonaventura. I will address the troops. Let us go
I grabbed my cap from a bureau counter as we left the small cubicle office and I went out to meet my destiny.
