I recently uninstalled Alien Crossfire because it was making my system erratic and interfering with my beloved SimCity (plus I was sick of the Progenitor-related technologies). Anyway, to provide myself with an alternative to the horror of Miriam, I modified the Alien Crossfire faction files to work in regular Alpha Centauri. Of course, that means that the "ability with tech" and "facility with tech" characteristics are lost, the Pirates are no longer aquatic, and the aliens are no longer alien . . . At any rate, I was wondering if there were any players of regular Alpha Centauri who wanted to experience the new factions. If so, I could put them up as an attachment or something.
For those who know the new factions, here's (hopefully) all the things lost and changed:
Drones: Instead of NODRONE, 1, the Drones now get an extra Talent at five citizens.
Angels: No free Covert Ops Centers; otherwise unchanged.
Cult: No Worm Police or free Brood Pits; otherwise unchanged.
Consciousness: No Techsteal; otherwise unchanged.
Pirates: No longer aquatic; no free Naval Yards/Marine Detachment; but they start with a Unity Gunship.
Usurpers: No attack bonus; start with a Unity Scout Chopper rather than a Battle Ogre.
Caretakers: No defense bonus; start with a mind worm unit.
