Alien Faction Setting

What EXACTLY does setting the ALIEN flag for a custom faction do? Can you have only one Alien faction in a game or will things get screwed up if you do?

Entering the characteristic "ALIEN, 0" will make the faction in question play like an alien faction. They will talk like the aliens in diplomacy screens, they will use an energy grid instead of commerce, they will never be able to make a truce or treaty with any other "ALIEN, 0" faction, etc.

If you have the Alien Crossfire patch installed, you may not play with only one alien faction. Otherwise you can.
