  • Quote voice auditions for the Ultramind Mod!!!

    Hello everyone,

I am near completion of my Ultramind Mod, which I have dragged on too long and I really need to speed p the tempo of its development. All I need is people to say the following quotes, from the 'new' blurbs, for the couple of new techs, if that is okay. This means that I am looking for voluntiers, with a microphone (or something similar ) that are willing to provide the voices for the quotes. You will be mentioned in the credits of the mod, when it finally gets posted...

Any comments, suggestions and misc. please post here.

    Quotes

    *** (Quote for Space Habitation)
Are we content to stew in our collective juices, to turn inward as
our planet runs inexorably out of resources and wait for the Universe
(or perhaps our next-door neighbours) to grow tired of us and wipe
us out? Or shall we claim the planets and stars, distribute our eggs
among many baskets, ensure the long-term survival of our species, and
in the process embark on the greatest adventure of all time?
    ^
    ^ -- Brian Reynolds,
    ^ The Alpha Centauri Manual

    *** (Utilised Espionage)
Formless and invisible, we are the arbiter of the enemy's
    fate. One is strong if he causes the enemy to respond to him;
one is weak if one must respond to the enemy.
    ^
    ^ -- Sun Tzu,
^ "The Art of War", Datalinks

    *** (Basic Psionics)
As the Ultramind split from the Planetmind, it extracted new
information and knowledge from it's horrific human hosts. In
doing so, it has managed to evolve new forms of psi techniques,
some of which have been deemed undreamt of before. And it will use
them ferociously against any same sentience that stands in its path.
    ^
    ^ -- Shaman Chiana Samato,
    ^ "Observing the Enemy"

    *** (Ghost Enhancing)
Your basic training will consist of an introduction programme to our
so called "Ghost" projects. The individuals who choose to go through
the transformation will have direct uplink to Planet's vast computer
networks, from which you will commence various operations coming from
the highest chain of power - me, your rightful Emperor.
    ^
    ^ -- Emperor Tukal Adius,
^ except from Lord "Ghost" Project

    *** (New Age Anthropology)
We need not worry so much about what man descends from - it's what
he descends to that shames the human race.
    ^
    ^ -- Mark Twain,
    ^ Datalinks

    *** (Mapping the Planetmind)
After arrival: Progenitor notice things have changed. New tehcniques
developed: devastating Ultramind. Cultivator goal: map the remaints
of the more powerful Planetmind: to see if such evolutions can be
    applied to our will.
    ^
    ^ -- Queen Galla Ke,
    ^ "New Home: New Dangers"

    *** (Morphostrategic Algorithms)
All our final decisions are made in a state of mind that is not going
    to last.
    ^
    ^ -- Marcel Proust,
    ^ Datalinks

    Any volontiers? Anyone?

PS. Yes the first quote does come from the Alpha Centauri Manual!
... This body holding me reminds me of my own mortality...
    ... Pain is an illusion...

Don't know if I'll be any good, but if you need a few quotes I don't mind...my friend thinks I'm pretty good at the authentic SMAC stuff (although when I go around quoting the Bioenhancement Centre quote at her I think I scare her slightly...)

james_aldred@hotmail.com if you need to contact me. Got a microphone.
"Love the earth and sun and animals, despise riches, give alms to every one that asks, stand up for the stupid and crazy, devote your income and labor to others, hate tyrants, argue not concerning God, have patience and indulgence toward the people, take off your hat to nothing known or unknown . . . reexamine all you have been told at school or church or in any book, dismiss whatever insults your own soul, and your very flesh shall be a great poem and have the richest fluency" - Walt Whitman

Thanx for replying! What is your voice like - deep? If so, would you mind doing Bryan Reynolds, Sun Tzu and/or Emperor Adius? I'll be forever grateful.

            Hi,

I'd be interested. Baritone-tenor male with what some people say is a slight Southern accent. I have a mike, etc.

                    Hello,

I'd really like to do this, but a sudden family emergency has arisen and I will be out of town for about 1 week. I do apologize.

If the gig is still available when I get back, I'd be happy to do it.

Well, looking in my mail box (specifically created to be used for my Apolyton businesses) and finding this:

no new messages for this time period

                        makes me wonder

To encode your WAV files to MP3 (any format - I can reformat it later) just get an MP3 Encoder at www.download.com the best site for Freeware!

                        Please don't be shy!

                          Hi,

Thank you for your very kind thoughts. One of our twin, 1-month, 2-week old granddaughters came down with Group B Strep (or Staph, never can remember which) and almost died.

As we were driving up we thought she would be dead when we got there as they had told the mother that the baby probably would not make it through the night. Fortunately, they figured out what she had and started antibiotics. She's fine now and has been moved out of the PICU to a regular pediatrics room. (Huge sigh of relief.)

So, we had some stressful days, but with a good outcome and had a great time visiting family. I'll have the passages you have assigned me back to you sometime the end of this week.

sorry for delay - getting ducks in order (and guests out of the way from their visiting me)

have downloaded the WAV to MP3 decoder - will start experimenting tomorrow

                              Hi,

Sorry for being tardy, but I have the texts done and encoded. I would have already sent them to you, but I couldn't find a way to send you an attachment.
