WWI scenario, anyone?

I'm thinking about trying to make a WWI scenario. I can't think of what other kind of scenario might be interesting.

Here's how I'm thinking about mapping the players:

Britain: Morgan
France: Lal
Germany: Santiago
Italy: Deirdre
Austria: Miriam
Russia: Zakh
Turkey: Yang

Any ideas on simulating trench warfare?

imho smac is way too scifi for a ww1 theme. i think civ III (or maybe civ II) is much more suited for such a project. i thougth over this idea a while ago but canceled it.
