I have been away from Alpha Centauri for a while, and now I have returned. I have created a new faction, called "Quantum Imperators". I got the words by messing around in a Latin-English dictionary...don't ask...
Here are the data links...
#DATALINKS1
^LEADER: {Imperator Dustin Steele}
^BACKGROUND: {Classified}
^AGENDA: {Conquest}
^TECH: {Doctrine: Loyalty}
^
#DATALINKS2
^+1 INDUSTRY: {Leaders promote stable industrial growth}
^+2 POLICE: {Oppressive government}
^-1 PLANET: {Industry pollutes Chiron}
^-1 EFFICIENCY: {Decreased economic efficiency}
^{FANATIC: +25% Attack Bonus}
^{Immune to Mind Control}
^May not use Democratic Politics.
I then tested it all the way up to 2475. I replaced the Hive with the Imperators. The results on most aspects of the game are listed below.
By 2475, we had breakthroughs every 30 years. We had discovered:
Explore 71%
Discover 63%
Build 47%
Conquer 73%
The Gains, the leading scientists at the time, had:
Explore 95%
Discover 84%
Build 100%
Conquer 100%
We were always the poorest faction. We never had more than 230 credits in our reserves. By 2475, our net income was -30...and we had 0 energy left. The Gains, who also had the best income, got 84 as their net income.
We had 28 bases. Exactly 25 of them had drone riots about 97% of the time. Our bases had fairly good productivity and our land was heavily terraformed.
No one had ever completed or attempted to complete a secret project.
Our might was ranked as sufficient. Of five fractions (The Morganites and the peacekeepers were eradicated early on) we were fourth in dominance. The Believers were slightly below me, the university was slightly above me, the Spartans were slightly above the University, and the Gains towered over all of us.
At the end of the game, I had a pact with the Gains and I was at war with everyone else.
Note that this game was played by the computer (not me) and that it wasn't eradicated. It was played on Talent level.
