  • Max number of faction special rules

    I know this info has to exist somewhere, but I can't find it.

    In SMACX, what is the maximum number of faction special abilities that can go in this line (example from Usurpers):

    ALIEN, 0, OFFENSE, 125, SOCIAL, +GROWTH, SOCIAL, +MORALE, SOCIAL, -PLANET, FACILITY, 3, TECH, Ecology, TECH, Physic, TECH, Biogen

    And is it different for progenitor factions than human ones?

    It is a pretty big limit if there is one, I remember being able to add lots and lots of stuff, experiment and find out.

      I am disappointed I did not get a better answer here than "experiment and find out". Fortunately I did get some very useful from Mart over at WePlayCiv which I will reproduce here for anyone else wondering about this crucial aspect of faction-making:

        oh sorry I thought you meant what was the maximum # together, not a complete list of all the special rules.

        Faction.txt(also copied in sid.txt and brian.txt) in your game directory have more information on what those mean, and the list itself is in facedit.txt.
