This is going to sound pathetic but... How do I keep units I save to a scenario from being erased? I decided to put preset start locations into a custom map. ok done, then I save. Uh oh. The computer vigorously deletes any thing that vaugley ressembles a unit. Any way of stoping this?

Re: Realy Realy newbie question
Not sure if this should be in the General/Help/Strategy section instead, but doesn't really matter.

There could be several reasons, as follows:
1) if your talking about the Progenitor Factions disappearing when you start your scenario, then, because the Scenario Editor always starts out in MY2100, then because the Progs aren't supposed to arrive till MY2105, then the game will simply delete units from these Factions. I think the same is true for the Planet Cult.
2) Did you accidently save as a map instead, as a map-save will not include units.
Barring that, zip and post the file here and I can look at it to see if there is some reason for this issue.

Aargh. A bit of finicking with the editor got me what I wanted, problem is when I try to load the scenario it gives me the following error message: "Unable to allocate draw-buffer, terminating program."
Any insights as to my problem in this case? The realy anoying part is that I loaded any early attempt at a scenario and it worked perfectly

Actually, the only thing that comes to mind is whether you are building the game in SMAC and then trying to play it in SMAX (or vice versa). Otherwise, I'd say zip and post it here and see if other people have the same problem or not.
