Help on Custom Faction

Probably wrong thread, but all the same, I like this crowd better...it get's more responses...

Anyways, I'm trying to create a custom faction with custom graphics...unfortunately the Network Node isn't working...while I could make my own blank faction graphic files, I haven't a clue where I could find the color pallete of SMAC...I plan on installing a free trial of Paint Shop Pro X once I get all the graphics ready, but I want to secure the pallete first...

Any help would be appreciated...

The pallete is in the main SMAC directory, called 'palette.pcx' (damn, is how DO you spell palette?)

Your best bet is simply to take an existing factions .pcx file and change the leader and logo images: I've found editing the actual base images screws up the palette, for some baffling reason: however careful you are, the base graphics appear in game surrounded by outlines :-(

I use network node to filtch nice base graphics for my factions, them poke about on the 'net for leaderheads and logos.
