The Altera Centauri collection has been brought up to date by Darsnan. It comprises every decent scenario he's been able to find anywhere on the web, going back over 20 years.

Call To Power 2 Cradle 3+ mod in progress: https://apolyton.net/forum/other-games/call-to-power-2/ctp2-creation/9437883-making-cradle-3-fully-compatible-with-the-apolyton-edition
Well, I'm certainly no member of the team. In fact, I'm just a random lurker. But my desire to play around with 3D Studio following a visit to this forum made me start to work on a little project, namely, the cities of everyone's least favorite despot. It's hardly a final thing, but improving it can wait for tomorrow. So, the basic Hive city, the original and mine for comparison.
Heh, as ever I'm amazed at the creativity and skill in our midst.
Revolution, you should go find the sign-up thread. I dont' think its dropped off the first page. Just tell us what you'd like to do, give us a contact email and you're a member.
If you want something to do then you should PM Darsnan. He was putting together a Peacekeeper faction for Civ4 and I'm sure would like some graphics, if you're interested and have the time.
Also, has anyone yet worked out how to implement these models in Civ4 yet?
Should be interesting trying to lower the poly count of the Hive, that crazy Chairman makes his cities almost entirely out of curved surfaces. Keeping the main part of the city below 300 polys was a challenge in itself. Still, it's entirely possible, it'll just start to become even more obviously low-poly.
I know it's a bit off topic, but are cities going to have the Civ4 sprawl, or will it be the single model representing the base like in SMAC? If we don't have to throw down a hundred buildings per city, poly counts aren't such a burden, and I can leave on more of surface details. There's a massive difference between being able to use a few hundred and a few thousand poly's obviously. I wouldn't relish doing the Gaian base in a low poly environment.
As for joining, I'll definately consider it, AC fanatic that I am, but since I'm heading out of the country in a few days for a week, might as well hold off until then. That way I can actually be around to answer/ask questions and produce more stuff.
Thanks for the praise and comments, will work on cleaning it up the Hive later today. Or maybe I'll poke at the Spartans, I was looking at those cities, and that's a low-poly model just begging to be made. They like nice, efficient boxes.
And as The Revolution asked, are we going to have civ4's city sprawl? If so maybe we should create those 'generic' base buildings that you see in pop-ups and the smac monument screen. At least for the houses things. And maybe pyramids (With individual symbols displayed) for the Secrets Projects.
Don't rule me out when I'm losing. Save your celebration until after I'm gone.
Chiron was a pretty harsh place and the bases are decicted as where you live etc, going out for minerals\nutrients and them coming back. i dont think it would fit in with smac. most of the information\theme about SMAC would go against doing so
if you want to stop terrorism; stop participating in it
