  • Help modifying a multi-player game

Hello, I have been playing a multi-player game for some time now. It has gone quite well, but one player has reached a critical mass and is getting discoveries every four turns and growing exponentially.

In other words he had won! The problem is he does not want to win yet. He wants to give the other players a chance to fight it out and hail him as new world leader.

How do we modify game to add tech stagnation?
    How do we prevent trancendence?
    Thank you

You can't. The rules are imprinted onto a game when it is set up, and cannot be changed.

I guess the dominant player just doesn't build the "Ascent to Transcendence". He can go into a "dormant" mode where he just leaves his units in static positions, and allows the rest of the players to continue hacking away at each other.
Or the dominant player can build the "Ascent to Transcendence", transcend, and the rest of the players can continue on with the game (its just that the game won't recognize any scores after this).
    FYI.
