  • Alpha Centauri: Alternate Universe

Seven factions, posted below (or, if they have responses, above).

    Forces Of Earth
    PlanetKeepers
    Night Core, Inc.
    LifeTech Corporation
    Followers Of Zerax

And introducing two new alien factions (that don't work very well because they keep calling themselves Progenitors but use your imagination)
Children Of Chiron (with new city set... fungal towers!)
    CyberNet

Submitted for your approval. None of these faction have custom graphics (with the exception of the Children Of Chiron which I cut and pasted lots of native junk). If someone would like to help me out, I would be more then appriciative. All factions have custom everything else, base names, diplomacy, etc.

Famyn, please, if you have ideas about new factions, put them all in one thread like the rest of us like Jasonian and others have done -- it's just waste of space to create a half dozen new threads simply because you have some neat ideas, and my experience has told me that it will also more or less doom all these minithreads to the archives, because people will not bother getting involved in many threads just to discuss an idea or two on the same topic. List them all in one place please, so people can comment on and discus your ideas as a whole. Just trying to help.

Well, first off I would agree with you but I have found in the past that if a new faction is lost in a large thread people won't read it, and people are more likely to comment on a single thread that contains nothing more then contain the new faction. If someone wants to post a response to just one new faction and tell me whats wrong with them, then fine. Its not that big of a deal to look at several threads.

Second, its not a waste of space because this isn't the busiest forum in the whole world.

Now, I would have just left it at that if you didn't take matters into your own hands and bump up all those other threads above my own. Look, I don't know who you are, you might be a admin or something, but I really, really don't think you should have just taken matters into your own hands and posted in those other threads just to clear mine out to the second scroll-down page. Some of those other threads haven't had new posts for weeks, and most of them haven't had new posts for MONTHS!

I am trying to stimulate discussion around here in this less-then-completely active forum. Just because YOU don't feel what I was doing was 'correct' doesn't give YOU the right to try and 'fix' what I did. However, I am above going and 'bumping' my posts back up to the top.

Okay, let's just clear a few things up before this starts into a flame war. First, the fact that your threads got bumped by my bumping all those other threads was purely incidental, and does not represent any malice on my part -- it was intended purely to bring back a whole bunch of oldie-but-goodies back into the fold. I only realized afterwards that this had the unfortunate effect of pushing all your threads down, and for that oversight I apologize.

I also want to apologize for being so harsh on you with regards to your posting multiple threads. I was in a cranky mood at the time; you may do as you please, and I have no ownership or authority to tell you what to do in these forums, so I retract everything. Have a great time sharing your ideas with others. No hard feelings?

Hey, Famyn, I'm yearning for new factions and these look fine enough. Could you send them to me in E-mail, in proper faction format, with (if possible) pics and other sort of stuff?

As soon as I'm done 'fixing' them, sure. Perhaps today or tommorrow.

Warning: I'm no artist. They have the same pics/cities/symbols as the normal factions, with the exception of the Children Of Chiron which have fungal towers for cities and pics.

What they do include is new dialogue, new base names, and new, unique colors for each faction.

Oh, and Alexander: don't worry about it

Oaww... can you at least make some sort of symbols? I can slap rest of stuff from my own fac leader - city collection, but I'm not very good at symbol-making.
