I began a MOD awhile back, with the intent of creating a 'sequel' to the original games. It would be called 'Alpha Centauri MY 3500: Transcendence Lost.' Pretty much, it would be about two new Progenitor factions coming to planet in MY 3500, and causing the PlanetMind to split up. The factions would be 'native' factions, using city pictures that look like the native lifeforms.
However, with a lack of interest on the Sidgames forums, I just sorta stopped with it. I will present my single faction I finished for this MOD, The Remnants. If there is enough desire, perhaps I will complete it one day

^-1 POLICE: {Bizzare logic/emotion hybrid thought leads to severe problems in some cases}
^Impunity to CYBERNETIC penalty: {Cybernetic social choice is part of the Silicorganic culture}
^Gains tech that three other factions with infiltrators have developed
^{May not make Green choice in social engineering}
I cut, pasted, and slightly modified battle ogres for their cities. Since I'm no artist, all the other pictures look the same as the Cyborgs.
They are based somewhat on the Cyborgs. In fact, they ARE the cyborgs 1000 years after the end of the game. Having rejected joining the PlanetMind, they were the few that entered hibernation until the PlanetMind reached maturity. Aki Zeta-Five set large organocomp systems on perfecting the cybernetic organism, thus creating a silicorganic lifeform, not just a man/machine hybrid but a new form of life entirely.
During my playtesting, the -1 growth and -1 police to wonders to offset the benefits of this faction, especially during early/mid games. Makes me realize all SE choices aren't created equal. Your thoughts?
