Sounds cool . .. Is Babylon 5 (the station) going to be a secret project? Is it going to be lke the council? Could you make the council not convene until Babylon 5 is built?

Babylon 5 will be a space station (water base), as well as a project (known as wonders of the universe) The Babylon project. There will be no planatary councle in the scenario. There is a project that gives a faction all the comm frequwncies. This will be called The Babylon Project in the mod. A problem is that the shadows will be a faction, but that is a bridge to cross when I get there.
B5 Faction will be released some time next month.......

Well, when they made the MOO2 mod for civ2, the designer found out that using ocean as space squares didn't work, because the compartively small landmasses of planets really messed up the AI, something about it not being able to handle intercontinental empires, or fond of extensive naval warfare, or something like that. Of course, they may have fixed this, but Caveat Emptor.

The AI in SMAC uses the water much better than in Civ2 and will expand into it. This modpack should have little problem with water as space. Check out Aquarium Scenario by Simon de Vet if you need to see for yourself.
It is an all water map. The only problem is that waterbases are much easier to conquer.

Resurrecting this very OLD thread, reminds me of the [URL=http://apolyton.net/forums/Forum13/HTML/000108.html?date=23:08]SMAC(X) In Space - why stay planet-bound?
and [URL=http://apolyton.net/forums/Forum13/HTML/000121.html?date=17:35]
SMAC(X) In Space - why stay planet-bound? (continued)
Maybe a Babylon 5 mod is in order. Would be pretty cool... though I guess croxis stopped when he found out how much work was really involved...

Haha... it only took a month to answer.
Yes, you can! There is a little 'edit' button above each post, along with a bunch of other icons.Banned on Black Saturday in the name of those who went before him.
Realizes that no one probably remembers that event.
