  • Changing weapon force

    Hi,

I'm new to this forum (even if I've read Apolyton for quite a while), so don't bash me too harder, ok?

I'd like to know if it's possible to change weapons force in AC. Please, note I'm not saying "attacking force". What I mean is: during my games every units only inflict 3 damage points for full successful strike, but I'd like to change this amount as I can do with CivilizationII/ToT. Is this possible? (don't tell me just to change attack value as someone else already told me...)

    Saluti,
    Emanuele

Emanuele: So you mean "damage caused per hit"?

    Sorry, I don't know.

Read the Alpha.txt file. You will find a wealth of things to change. Make a backup copy before you change it though.

        I think he means firepower.

I am not sure what he/she means. How about we have an explanation of the difference between "weapons force" and "attacking force".

To me, weapon force and attacking force mean the same thing. He wants to make it more powerful right? Like a lasergun as strong as a misslelauncher. When your building things in the workshop. Notice that a Gun has a #1 in the corner. A missle launcher has a #6. This is the attack force/value/rating whatever you want to call it. This can be changed in the Alpha.txt file.

            Hi,
Sorry for being late (I was too busy with university). Yes, I meant exactly "firepower" but I was short of word that day...

I looked deeply in alpha.txt and now I'm quite sure I can't change firepower... but I can live with this.

For compugasm: being a CivII player I'm used to a slightly different weapon system where "attaking force" and "firepower" are distinct concept... sorry for mis-wording...
