  • No, but I'm a little slow here......well, very slow.

    Looks like some progress was made here. Like you said to the guy in the main forum. The mod is nearly done.....so close! Just to get over the top and package it all up..........

    • I played Aldebaran for some time. It's a different experience from SMAX. The AI is apparently stronger. although it is still very weak "overseas". but thats the same with today's strategy games (like civ3, civ4 wont be much different i bet). So, let me get back to trying out the different faction. i want to see if the Syndicate is really that overpowered in "human" hands

      • Sadly, this creation thread is dead due to SmackSim's departure and noone else has either the knowledge or time or interest to continue building this project (although it's almost done).

        If you like enhanced AI performance, you could get an advice here.

            I can help out, especially giving the alphax.txt file one more going over. Considering what CMN have learned over the last year why I should be able to improve the AI play: the AI can be made stronger, from what I recollect playing against. Also, I can sneak in a few new CMN tweaks, some of it specifically dealing with the "overseas" issue.

                        • I'm using Windows 98. However, I've got around the problem by setting the intital envirnment to 2048 instead of auto.

                          Now I have another problem. Here's the message I'm getting:

                          "Directory already exists
                          Cannot make directory entry - ."

                          Actually I was getting this before, on top of the environment error.

                          • Ok, silly me. I didn't know to press a key for it to go further. It launched. I still get the directory error but the mod appears to be working.

                            • Just ignore that directory error. I don't know how to supress it, but it doesn't mean anything's wrong.
