  • How do I heal native life form units?

Playing a new game of SMAX (v2 w/ 2k/XP patch + unofficial patch) and I can't for the life of me figure out how to heal native life form units? I have 3 Battle Ogre MK1 units at 20, 50, and 60% damage and really no clue how to heal them.

    You can't heal Battle Ogres.

{Battle Ogres} are rare, mechanical remnants of the first Progenitor era on Planet. Several different types of Ogres may be found, each with advanced equipment and powers. Unfortunately, the convoluted engineering of these units makes it impossible for them to be repaired even by Progenitor technicians; any damage taken is permanent.

When it gets too damaged to be reliable, then use it to promote a secret project - despite it's damage you still get the full (half) minerals.
With or without religion, you would have good people doing good things and evil people doing evil things. But for good people to do evil things, that takes religion.

Actually, Battle Ogres aren't "Native Life Forms". They're Progenitor units. I usually park them in a base for the +1 police and defense.

Battle Ogres are better used in the early game (if need be, and only in emergencies) or parked in base squares. MK3s are especially valuable -- though I've never had one (only played Progenitor a couple of times, I stick to SMAC instead).

I believe MK3s are only for scenario building purposes, but have never actually tested that.

I've captured one Mk3 in each of two games in the twelve years I've played. Each time it was after the massive bloom.

By capturing you mean pod popping? Why was the fungal bloom involved? I'm not sure if it has anything to do with Ogres.

Yes, I did mean pod popping; it was not a Mk3 that I just happened upon in my travels.
The fungal bloom might be irrelevant; it's just that I popped the pod sometime after the bloom.
