  • Windows 7 with Multi-core CPU compatibility question

I tried installing SMAC/SMAX on my new computer that has Windows 7 Premium and a quad-core Phenom II processor, but when I try to run the game (with Windows XP compatibility mode or Windows 98 compatibility mode set), I get an error box saying that my CPU is not supported, and then it crashes back to the desktop. I am also selecting the checkbox to force it to run in administrator mode, and am running it under an administrator user account. Does anybody here know what I need to do to run the game properly short of using an older machine?

With or without religion, you would have good people doing good things and evil people doing evil things. But for good people to do evil things, that takes religion.

I had this same problem a few weeks ago and was able to fix it via that thread, too.
I once was a slave to the Alderbaran 2 project!
