  • Becoming planet governor.

    So I was elected governor.
Now I can see into everyone's cities and know what their military strength is.
This seems like too much of an advantage.
With this information I know that I could wipe out the faction next to me.

Are there strong repercussions built into the game to punish a governor for using the info this way?

Why would a faction be willing to give all of this intelligence away?

There are no consequences for a governor using the automatic infiltration information. The theory is that the Planetary Governor gains this information as a result of being the Governor. You neighbor should have attempted to get someone else elected!

I still infiltrate with probe teams, just in case I lose governorship. Besides, if you play on higher difficulties, the AI can get that info about -you- :P.

of course you can wipe them out easy. just play Transcend difficulty, then you'll get your match! spartans with 50 units, hive with 70, believers with 100. and aliens swarming with rovers with +3armors and deep radars. and just when you thought you are tough, along comes a probe from morgan or angels and captures half of your army and a hard conquested city.
