I stand corrected. I remember this really good site (sadly deceased, but it used to be at www.alphahq.net) which had tons of background information on faction leaders and the like, including their birthdates. I can't recall if this info was in the manual though."lol internet" ~ AAHZ

That's the page I've been searching for. I remember finding Aki's last name on that page, and then checking it out to make sure it really was Norwegian, before I put it into my fanfic.
Awhile later, a few Scandinavian Polytubbies complimented me on it, but I had to confess it wasn't my own research and creativity - it was Firaxis' own attention to detail.
(Although I had difficulty explaining her masculine name of Aki - apparently for a girl the Norwegian name is more commonly Aka. But in-story I waved it away by saying she changed her name to a neuter name when she became a cyborg.)"lol internet" ~ AAHZ
